Flight to Lisboa.

LISBON - FÁTIMA  Arrival in Lisbon. We will be met and escorted by aviatours staff. We will continue to a visit the Jerónimos Monastery, the pantheon of Kings, vasco da Gama, and the Belém Tower, both masterpieces of Manueline art from the early 16th century. At every step we are reminded of the great Portuguese history that is explained to us in the Monument to the Discoveries. Before leaving we cross the 25th of April Bridge to see the statue of Cristo Rei, from where there are magnificent views over the city. Accommodation in Fátima. Possibility of celebrating mass and participating in the procession and religious activities. Dinner and overnight.

FATIMA – COIMBRA – SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA After breakfast-Coimbra is home to the oldest university in Portugal and even today its lively student atmosphere dominates the city. We will visit the University with its library and the purest Romanesque Cathedral in Portugal. We will walk through the narrow streets to the Carmelite Convent, where Sister Lucia, one of the Shepherd of Fátima, lived and died. Possibility of celebrating or attending mass. In the afternoon we will leave Portugal to continue our journey to Spain. Possibility of walking along the “Portuguese” Way of St. James before arriving in Santiago de Compostela. Dinner and accommodation in Santiago.

SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA After breakfast-A walk through the narrow streets of the old town takes us to the Cathedral of Santiago, the destination of almost all Christian pilgrims, where we can follow tradition and embrace the figure of Saint James the Apostle. We will discover the monumental Plaza del Obradoiro, surrounded by magnificent works of art in granite, as well as the charming medieval historic centre. Possibility of celebrating or attending the Pilgrim's Mass and watching the " Botafumeriro " ceremony. Dinner and accommodation in Santiago.

SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA – LEÓN – BURGOS After breakfast-León, one of the capitals of medieval Spain, offers us masterpieces of Romanesque painting, sculpture and architecture in San Isidoro, and one of the most important collections of stained glass windows with religious motifs in the Gothic Cathedral. Before continuing our route, we will contemplate the beautiful façade of the old pilgrims’ hospital of San Marcos, now converted into a luxurious Parador. Possibility of celebrating or attending mass. Possibility of walking along the Camino de Santiago. Accommodation in Burgos.

BURGOS – LOURDES After breakfast-Burgos welcomes us with the story of the origin of Castile at the Renaissance Puerta de Santa María, with special reference to the figure of El Cid Campeador. We will visit the Cathedral, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture and a World Heritage Site. A walk through the city will take us to the Casa del Cordón, the Plaza Mayor, the Paseo del Espolón and the Consulate. Possibility of celebrating or attending mass. Possibility of walking along the The Way of Santiago. In the afternoon we will continue our trip to France. Dinner and accommodation in Lourdes. Possibility of celebrating mass and participating in religious activities and the torchlight procession.

LOURDES After breakfast-In this beautiful Pyrenean valley, the Sanctuary is built around the Grotto where the apparitions of Our Lady to Bernadette took place in 1858. We will have the opportunity to see the neo-Gothic Basilica, the Church of the Rosary, the underground Basilica, the Via Crucis and the House of the Saint. Dinner and accommodation in Lourdes. Possibility of celebrating mass and taking part in religious activities and the torchlight procession.

LOURDES – ANDORRA – MONTSERRAT In the morning we will cross the Pyrenees and take a break in Andorra, a small principality that has become an interesting commercial centre. In the heart of Catalonia we arrive at Montserrat with its Benedictine Monastery and important historicist church that houses La Moreneta , the Virgin of Montserrat. The rocky natural surroundings invite us to enjoy beautiful walks. Accommodation in Montserrat Possibility of celebrating or attending mass and renewing wedding vows.

MONTSERRAT / BARCELONA Excursion After a panoramic tour of Barcelona that will take us along the great avenues of Barcelona with their modernist houses, we will arrive for an external visit of the Sagrada Familia, the masterpiece of the architect Gaudí. Possibility of organizing a tapas-based meal After a stop at another of Gaudí's best-known works, Park Güell, we will head to the old town, which we will explore on foot: the Gothic Quarter, the Cathedral and Las Ramblas, a traditional walking area. Return to Montserrat and accommodation.

MONTSERRAT – BARCELONA Transfer to Barcelona airport for our return flight.

On Day 8, this pilgrimage may go to Paris instead of Barcelona and from there home.
